Study says more than 150,000 die every year from heat waves
Publicado em 14 maio 2024More than 150,000 people have died every year worldwide due to heat waves since 1990, according to new research. Europe had the highest population-adjusted mortality rate, according to the first global mapping of heat wave-triggered deaths. The global surface temperature has increased by 1.14 degrees Celcius from 2013 to 2022, say scientists, and is expected to rise by another 0.41C to 3.41C by 2081 to 2100. They warned that, with the increasing impacts of climate change, heat waves [...]ver notícia -

These are the climate change winners and losers

They found that the fate of plant species will depend on where they live: lowland species can move uphill for cooler conditions, but mountain plants have nowhere to go. Dr. Mateus Silva, of the University of Exeter said: [...]ver notícia -

Girls suffer worse than boys, and back pain is also associated with physical inactivity and low academic achievement. The nearness of the screen to the eyes as well as sitting or lying on your stomach while viewing were also risk factors, along with the duration. The team at São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in Brazil analyzed data from more than 1,600 school [...]ver notícia
