The Science for All Award is accepting submissions from teachers and students of public schools in the state of São Paulo until July 17. The initiative aims to encourage the development of science activities in public schools and promote the engagement of students and the school community with science and its applications in education and life.
At this stage, it is sufficient for the professor to express an interest in participating in the award and the other details regarding the registered project must be updated according to the public announcement calendar. In its second edition, the prize will select and highlight research projects, in all fields of knowledge, that use scientific methods to propose solutions to specific problems, related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations ( UN).
The Science for All award includes the following five categories:
Last years of primary school (from 6th to 9th grade) of regular education.
Secondary education (from 1st to 3rd grade) of normal education.
Last cycle of Primary School for Youth and Adult Education (EJA).
Youth and Adult Education (EJA) High School Circle;
High School (from 1st to 3rd grades) Technical and Vocational High School.
All applicants, faculty and students, will be mentored in the development of research projects and audio-visual production and will receive certification.
Research projects must:
to identify a specific problem in the community,
make assumptions
literature review
present suggestions for intervention, before presenting solutions, update your results and conclusions in video format.
Entry to the award involves handing in the written research project, research report and audio-visual record on different dates, with the final stage being by 30 September.
The prize is an initiative of the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP) and the Roberto Marinho Foundation through Canal Futura.
evaluation and award
The projects to be delivered will be submitted in three stages:
in Step 1 after the training day, 100 projects will be selected.
in Step 2 the two finalists in each category will be selected.
in Step 3 the 5 winners of 2023 will be selected, one per category.
The award ceremony will take place on October 25, at a location to be determined.
Faculty and students awarded in each category will have the opportunity to visit a research center supported by FAPESP (includes transport, food, pedagogical mediation and gift kit, with bag, T-shirts and notebook). Teachers from the winning teams will also receive a notebook.
All the videos produced by the award-winning teams will be shown in the future on YouTube and Canal Futura’s social networks.
