The Thematic Project Continuous improvement of vaccines: Center for Viral Surveillance and Serological Evaluation (CeVIVAS), under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Sandra Coccuzzo Sampaio Vessoni and a team composed of researchers from the Butantan Institute, has a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship available.
The Fellow will work on the sub-project entitled "Identification and sequencing of peptides derived from the hypervariable region of antibodies induced by infection or vaccination", and his/her activities will be conducted at the Biochemistry Laboratory of the Butantan Institute, under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Carvalho Pimenta. In this project, the Fellow will work in the areas of Biochemistry and Mass Spectrometry, with the development and application of chromatographic methods for the different analytical matrices, analysis and interpretation of data. analysis and interpretation of data derived from LC-MS/MS experiments and the selection of candidates and design of synthetic peptides corresponding to the identified CDRs, which will be used as standards for the evaluation of immune memory.
Qualifications and experience required:
1. Ph.D completed less than 7 years ago in related fields (Sciences, Biology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, etc);
2. Experience in Biochemistry (mass spectrometry, HPLC, identification of proteins and peptides) and Immunology/Virology.
