The Butantan Institute has already started production of immunizers against dengue even before release from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).
The agency’s request to Anvisa to register the single-dose vaccine took place in December 2024.
According to Butantan, the last package of documents for the approval of the vaccine, called “Butantan DV”, was submitted to the body in December last year, and if approved, the expectation is that 1 million doses will be delivered in 2024, in addition to another 100 million by 2027.
In a statement this Tuesday (21), Anvisa informed that “a continuous submission procedure was created by Anvisa during the Covid-19 pandemic and allows the laboratory to present data and documents in stages, as the research and development work is being carried out.”
