Single-dose Brazilian dengue vaccine hits almost 80 percent efficacy
Publicado em 02 fevereiro 2024A dengue vaccine being developed by the Butantan Institute, a major research facility owned by the São Paulo state government and the largest vaccine manufacturer in Latin America, had an efficacy of 79.6 percent in clinical trials, according to results published Thursday in The New England Journal of Medicine. Brazil’s dengue fever deaths hit records in 2023
Publicado em 12 janeiro 2024Brazil reported a record 1,094 deaths from dengue fever in 2023, according to the Health Ministry. The previous year with the most deaths was 2022, when 1,053 deaths were recorded. The data shows that Brazil recorded more than 1.6 million dengue cases last year, a 16 percent increase compared to 2022. Atlantic Forest tree species at risk of extinction

Regulators greenlight phase two trials for Brazilian Covid vaccine
Publicado em 10 outubro 2022Brazilian federal health regulator Anvisa authorized a Covid vaccine developed by research institute Senai Cimatec to advance to phase two trials. Under the technical name RNA MCTI Cimatec HDT, the vaccine is part of a global plan that includes U.S.-based company HDT Bio Corp and India’s Gennova Biopharmaceuticals. Brazilian scientists detect Covid-19 using firefly enzyme
