Aircraft makers Boeing and Embraer have agreed a deal to invest in biofuels research at the Sao Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP). The organisations will work together on a report for publication at the end of the year, which will include details of a roadmap to sustainable biofuels for aircraft.
The programme will feature workshops running throughout 2012, including events open to the public. The companies are keen to develop biofuels that do not result in displacement of food crops. The project, according to the organisations concerned, may lead to the first ever biofuel research center in Brazil.
